DSS Operatives Invade Independent's Abuja Bureau Chief's House, Take Away Laptop, Other Belongings

The home of Mr. TonyEzimakor, Abuja Bureau Chief of Daily Independent Newspaper was on Friday invaded and ransacked by operatives of Department of State Service (DSS). The rampaging security men took away his laptop, memory cards and other belongings. 

The gun-wielding officers stormed his house located at Lugbe along airport in Abuja at 5:00 pm yesterday alongside Mr.Tony Ezimakor who has been unlawfully held by the service since Wednesday.  

It was gathered that the operatives ordered the children of the journalist out of the house and ransacked all the rooms and toilets in an operation that lasted for 2hours the officers also took with them his International passport and a mobile phone belonging to one of his daughters, they also removed other items.

The entire area was thrown into pandemonium as people were running in different directions as a result of intimidation by the gun totting officers.   

Ezimakor was said to have written a story on the roles played by the service in the negotiating of the release Chibok girls and how the mediation role played by the Swiss government has revived and emboldened Boko Haram terrorists.
