Police Confirm Abduction Of 8 People In Oyo State

The Public Relations Officer of Oyo state Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, has confirmed the abduction of eight people in Oyo state by gunmen suspected to be members of a terrorist group.

The eight persons were taken from a bus along Igboho-Igbeti road in the northern part of the state on Thursday, according to Daily Post.

The armed men reportedly emerged from a bush at the Old Oyo National Park and blocked the bus.

The kidnappers then ordered the occupants of the bus, including the driver, to alight and board another vehicle they had already parked by the roadside.

According to the source, the bus passengers and driver were held hostage in the bush for some minutes before they were taken to an unknown destination.

The Oyo state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abiodun Odude has reportedly deployed his men to the area to search for the kidnapped victims, rescue them and arrest the kidnappers.
