BREAKING: Buhari's Old Ally Named Chairman As Breakaway APC Faction Emerges

The breakout mirrors the tragedy that befell the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the lead-up to the 2015 election, when five governors led other bigwigs out of the party in 2013, first to form the New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) before joining other parties to form the APC.

A breakaway faction has emerged from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to form a group that will be known as the Reformed All Progressives Congress (RAPC).

Buba Galadima, former National Secretary of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), President Muhammadu Buhari’s former party, has been named Chairman of the new group.

After holding its maiden meeting for several hours, the group is expected to address journalists later on Wednesday.
