Maku Worried By Use Of PVCs As Collateral To Lend Market Women N10,000

September 17, 2018

“They collect PVCs from these women and asked for their PVCs as collateral, promising them a loan of N10, 000 only to copy information in it. Why will anyone only request for PVCs as collateral for a loan and no any other property?”

Labaran Maku, National Secretary of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has lamented alleged prevalence of buying of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across local government areas in Nasarawa State.

Maku made this allegation during an interview with Newsmen in Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa, on Sunday.

The former Minister of Information said reports from so many communities across all the 13 LGAs were about massive purchase of PVCs.

He alleged that some influential persons in government in the state were collecting information from PVCs, especially from women under the guise of financial assistance.

“They collect PVCs from these women and asked for their PVCs as collateral, promising them a loan of N10, 000 only to copy information in it.

“Why will anyone only request for PVCs as collateral for a loan and no any other property?”

He alleged that details retrieved from the PVC would be used to rig the coming 2019 election.

He called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate the trend, to forestall the planned election rigging.
