Nuhu Ribadu, former chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has said President Muhammadu Buhari deserves to be reelected for prosecuting up to one thousand corruption cases.

Ribadu who is the newly appointed Director of Field Operations of the Buhari Campaign Organisation stressed that "there is no record of governors being convicted anywhere, except in Buhari's government", he asserted.

This he said alluding to the conviction of former governors of Taraba and Plateau States, Rev. Jolly Nyame and Joshua Dariye respectively.

The award-winning anti-graft czar, made the remarks on Monday in Yola when he donated ten campaign buses and also collapsed his campaign structures into that of the president.

Ribadu said, "Corruption has never been fought at the level it is fought now in Nigeria.

"Nigeria under president Muhammadu Buhari is prosecuting over one thousand corruption cases which is the highest in the world and the conviction cases are unprecedented."

Ribadu took a swipe at politicians who continue to undermine Buhari's achievement by saying his so-called achievements were only an extension of the projects of previous governments.

"The question we should ask is why were those projects not completed then?

"Having a vision is not a criterion for success and no one ever takes credit for dreams because only those who have the guts and determination to execute and implement projects should take credit for it", he averred.

However, the Ribadu led Buhari reelection bid was clouded with issues from the fallouts of the APC Governorship nomination process in the state, as the campaign narratives failed to recognised the reelection bid of Governor Jibrilla Bindo.

SaharaReporters can report that Ribadu who contested in the Governorship primary, had faulted the process that produced the incumbent governor as the party's flag bearer.
