BREAKING: Kaduna Journalist Arrested For Re-posting Facebook Article Kefas Stephen Is Missing

Kefas who never arrived Kaduna has been incommunicado since his arrest and detention at Minikoro police station, Rivers state around 5pm by the Kaduna State Investigation Bureau on 8th May 2019 based on 'orders from above' which SaharaReporters confirms to be the governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai.

Stephen Kefas, a journalist and human rights activist who is a vocal critic of the Governor Nasir El-Rufai led administration is missing.

Kefas as was arrested on Wednesday for reposting a SaharaReporters article which detailed the Adara emirate tussle with the governor of Kaduna State which led to the death of late Kajuru monarch Dr. Maiwada Galadima.

After his arrest, SaharaReporters received exclusive information that he was to be transferred from Port-Harcourt where he was arrested to Kaduna on Thursday morning based on 'orders from above'.

Kefas who never arrived Kaduna has been incommunicado since his arrest and detention at Minikoro police station around 5pm by the Kaduna State Investigation Bureau on 8th May 2019 based on 'orders from above' which SaharaReporters confirm to be the governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai.

After his arrest he was taken to Minikoro police station where he spent the night over the counter, the Kaduna SIB left Port-Harcourt at about 4am on Thursday 9th May 2019 for Kaduna with Kefas by road.

At the time of filing this report, he's presence has not been registered at the Kaduna State Investigation Bureau (SIB) or at any detention facility within the state and in Port-Harcourt. 

Rivers Police Deny Arrest Of Stephen Kefas

Authorties of the Police command in Rivers State have denied the arrest and possession of Stephen Kefas, a Kaduna based Jounalist and Rights Activist .

Saharareporters reported he was arrested on Wednesday by men of the Rivers State Police Command for re-posting an article on Facebook which was at the behest of Kaduna state government.

Speaking Saharareporters on phone, Nnamdi Omoni, Police Public Relations Officer said he had no information of the arrest of Mr Kefas by his command 

”I didn't get any official signal of the arrest.Normally DPOs sent in weekly reports of their operations on arrests made. I don't have it and I can't guessor speculate on it” 

”Maybe the arrest was from other command but not Rivers Police Command ” He said .

Saharareporters has authoritatively gathered that Mr. Kefas was to be moved to Kaduna state where he is to be prosecuted.
