A report of Nigerian Army Direct Short Service (DSS) Course 25 shortlisting currently circulating on the social media is fake, the military high command has said.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Sagir Musa, the army stated that it had not made any information regarding the shortlisting public.

"Members of the public are hereby informed that the army has not advertised for DSSC Course 25 shortlisting exercise. Moreover, application forms for joining the army are not for sale.

"The Nigerian Army does not sell application forms to prospective candidates. Members of the public are hereby cautioned and advised to disregard the deceitful information/fake advert," the statement said.

However, the Nigerian Army said it would soon "officially advertise" for the SSC and DSSC 'shortlistment' after due diligence.
