UPDATE: #RevolutionNow Symposium: Police Have Started Arresting Innocent Bystanders, Say Organizers

A combined force of police, military, DSS, have sealed off the venue of our symposium. They took over by 7 am. They have started arresting innocent bystanders.

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services have sealed off the venue of the planned symposium of the #RevolutionNow movement, with the organizers accusing policemen of arresting innocent bystanders in a bid to prevent the event from holding by hook or by crook.

The symposium scheduled for today was to further strategize on move to stop the repression of Nigerians by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

According to the organizers of the symposium, the police have been at the venue since 7 am restricting movement into the venue and also arresting those who attempt to take pictures of the venue.

“A combined force of police, military, DSS, have sealed off the venue of our symposium. They took over by 7 am. They have started arresting innocent bystanders.

“This confirms again that everything foundation of our society is at risk. We must stand firm and say no to tyranny,” one of the organizers of the event told SaharaReporters.

Renowned rights activist including Prof. Wole Soyinka, Femi Falana (SAN), Barr. Affiong L. Affiong, Barr. Femi Aborisade and representatives of Amnesty International, SERAP, Nigerian Union of Journalists, Enough Is Enough, National Association of Nigerian Students, were all scheduled to attend the symposium.
