Thugs, who attacked peaceful protesters in Lagos, were brought to the protest ground in buses owned and operated by the Lagos State Government, SaharaReporters has learnt.
Managing Director of Primero Transport, the company operating the buses on behalf of the government, Mr Fola Tinubu, is a direct relative of former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu.
The protesters were converging to continue the rally on Thursday when the government sponsored-thugs brandishing cutlasses and knives moved in to attack them.
Some of the protesters were wounded during the attack.
Similar attacks on protesters happened on Wednesday but the hoodlums were repelled while some of them were caught and handed over to the police.
Some of the protesters claimed that the government-sponsored thugs were drafted from Mushin Local Government Area and were being used by politicians to foment trouble during election.
Medical personnel are moving to the scene of the attack to attend to injured protesters.
