Ogun Government Seals Gas Plants Blamed For Obasanjo Library Explosion, Others

Barely 24 hours after a gas explosion killed one person at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta on Thursday, another explosion at a construction company in the city injured two persons. 

The state government had on Thursday constituted a Special Committee on Gas Explosion to investigate the cases of gas explosion in Abeokuta.

The Committee is led by the State Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Femi Ogunbanwo. 

It was able to trace the outlet where the gas was purchased at Omida area of the town and seal it, Vanguard reports. 

The two main factories that supplied gas and oxygen to retailers at Idi-Ori and Obada -Oko axis of the state were equally sealed.

Ogunbanwo directed that retailers of gas to technicians and welders should stop selling till further notice.
