What We Remember Him For—Senator Kalu, Daddy Freeze React To Sound Sultan’s Death

The music legend passed on after battling with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma.

Popular On-Air Personality, OAP, Ifedayo Olarinde, also known as Daddy Freeze, has reacted to the death of Olanrewaju Fasasi, popularly known as Sound Sultan, saying he will remember the singer for his energetic disposition and full of life.

Sound Sultan died on Sunday at the age of 44, months after he was diagnosed with throat cancer.

 

His death was confirmed by a family member, Dr Kayode Fasasi, in a statement on Sunday.

 

Reacting, Freeze expressed sadness over Sound Sultan’s death.

 

He said he would always remember the late singer smiling, jovial, and full of life.

 

He wrote on Instagram, “Rest In Peace legend! May your family be granted the fortitude to bear this great loss. I would always remember you smiling, jovial, and full of life! #SoundSultan.”

 

Also, the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Kalu, lamented the death of Sound Sultan.

 

Kalu, in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, said Sound Sultan’s death is a huge loss to the entertainment industry and Nigeria.

 

The former governor of Abia stressed the need to properly harness the country’s entertainment industry to create jobs and wealth for Nigerians.

 

He said, “I join stakeholders in the entertainment industry in mourning the demise of the renowned rapper and sound artist, Olanrewaju Fasasi (Sound Sultan). The deceased was a talented songwriter, recording artist, rapper, comedian, and actor.

 

“He was blessed with various skills. The deceased carved a niche for himself in the music industry as a talented artist. His demise is a huge loss to the entertainment industry and Nigeria in general.”
