How Guests At Yusuf Buhari’s Wedding Violated COVID-19 Protocols

A video released by Bashir Ahmad, Personal Assistant to the Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Digital and New Media, showed a huge crowd scrambling to catch a glimpse of Buhari as he left the venue of the event after the wedding.

The crowd of guests and well-wishers at the wedding of Yusuf, the son of President Muhammadu Buhari, to Zahra Nasir Bayero, the daughter of Emir of Bichi on Friday held without regards for the COVID-19 protocols.

There was conspicuously no social distancing as the crowd surged on at the palace of the Emir of Bichi.

However, the wedding between Yusuf Buhari and Zahra has been concluded.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, an array of ministers and a number of governors were among the dignitaries who graced the occasion.

Osinbajo was received by the Governor of the State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Buhari had left Abuja for Yola to pay a condolence visit to the family of the late Permanent Secretary, Ahmed Joda, who was Chairman of the Presidential Transition Committee in 2015.

The President was also reportedly at the palace of Lamido of Adamawa, Mohammadu Aliu Barkin do.

At the airport to welcome the President was the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintri, the governor’s Chief of Staff, Prof Maxwell Gidado, SAN, and members of the State Executive Council.

Buhari had, on Thursday, dispatched a high-level delegation to Kano State, ahead of the wedding fathia.

Members of the delegation had included the Minister of Defence, Bashir Salihi Magashi; Minister of Agriculture, Sabo Nanono, Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika and Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Hussein Adamu alongside Shehu himself who are all led by the Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari.

The Emir of Bichi, father of the bride, had inaugurated a 145-man committee to ensure that the wedding ceremony did not have any hitch.
