Residents of the area have called on the authorities concerned to salvage the situation.
One of such residents, Adamu Abubakar said, "Business activities along the international route have been grounded."
Also speaking, Abdulganiyu Pakka said, "As a result of the collapse of the bridges, business and economic activities have completely come to a halt between Nigeria and Cameroon."
Farmers and transporters are already counting their losses.
A truck loaded with goods was overturned at one of the broken bridges.
The torrential rain also made several bridges to cave in in no fewer than five wards in the Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
There is also a dire humanitarian situation needing immediate intervention. Residents are, therefore, calling on the government to send relief materials.
