Residents Lament As Bandits Kidnap 10 Persons In Niger State Community

No fewer than 10 persons have been kidnapped by bandits who invaded Bassa community in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State on Monday.

In a letter by the spokesperson of the Coalition of Shiroro Associations (COSA), Salis Sabo, which was obtained by SaharaReporters, and titled, “Insecurity Update in Shiroro Local Government”, the residents revealed that the bandits had yet to demand for any ransom.
It was also disclosed that the terrorists were recruiting residents of Kurebe community into their fold.
The letter partly reads, "Report reaching us has it that terrorists invaded Bassa community in Shiroro LGA in the early hours of today (Monday). No fewer than 10 persons have been kidnapped. As of the time of this report, no call has been received from the bandits to demand for ransom or tell the whereabout of their victims.
"Similar report has it that the terrorists have started making a massive recruitment of the locals in Kurebe Community into their fold. The report shows that more women are being recruited as compared to the males.”
Sabo said further in the letter that, "Presently, Yakila village which borders Shiroro Local Government to Wushishi is presently under attack. Your prayers are fervently needed."
