Other motorcyclists in the area attacked the revenue collectors and inflicted injuries on them. Trouble was said to have started when one of the revenue collectors flagged down the motorcyclist along the Mokola-Dugbe Road and asked him to purchase the N100 daily ticket.

The motorcyclist, whose identity has not been revealed, refused to purchase the ticket with the excuse that he did not have N100.

According to eyewitnesses, the revenue collector and motorcyclist engaged in a brawl which drew the attention of two other revenue collectors to the scene.

Sources said the revenue collectors beat up the motorcyclist. When he retaliated, one of them gave the motorcyclist a blow. He fell flat on the ground.

An eyewitness, who simply identified himself as Oluwaseun, said the revenue collector might have used a ring to punch the motorcyclist.

Lamenting the incessant harassment of motorists by revenue collectors in the state, Oluwaseun said, “The government should do something about all these revenue collectors."
