Ooni Of Ife’s Family Never Wronged Me, Doesn't Deserve Insults—Dad Of Monarch's Baby Mama On 'Absentee Father' Allegation Against Ooni

Oladapo Olatunbosun, the father of Omolara Olatubosun, who had a child with the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has described his family's relationship with the first-class monarch as pleasant.

The monarch had on October 18, 2021, recounted his experience having his daughter, Adeola Ogunwusi at the age of 19, adding that parenting comes with challenges.

On his Instagram page, Ooni described Adeola as his closest friend and great confidant as she turned 28.

“Profoundly, life taught me to exhibit an abundance measure of resilience, compassion, determination, and above all empathy which my daughter sought from me. We formed an unbroken bond, shared in our joy and challenges as my closest friend and great confidant,” he had written.

"She is and will always be a huge blessing to me and life successes. I celebrate you, Princess Adeola Ogunwusi for being the epitome of my strength and dignity. Your tenacity, doggedness, and unshakable optimism to be the best in life are unarguably lifelong lessons that I cherish in you.”

However, in a statement issued last Tuesday, Omolara Olatubosun said there was no iota of truth in Ooni’s post.

She described the relationship between the monarch and daughter as “short and uneventful”.

“Yeye Ogunwusi was never present in Adeola’s life for the first ten years of her growing up which makes the `single father` narrative shocking, annoying and disrespectful to hear by all who know the truth of the story. I, Omolara, took care of my daughter physically, financially and emotionally, with the moral support of my mother and my siblings.

“I was a pregnant teen, but he was nowhere to be found, and I bore the responsibilities for our child and paid the physical and social cost of raising her alone in my mom’s house. Yeye Ogunwusi saw Adeola for only five minutes at the hospital when she was born. The next time he saw her was when she was already four years old and ten years old respectively," she had said.

However, Omolara’s father, Oladapo said nothing warranted insulting the monarchy, as his daughter had done.

“I can vouch for the integrity of my noble friend, Baba Oba John Oluropo Ogunwusi, and Oònirìsà Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Òjája, too.

“As a man known for Yorùbá culture and traditions, I will always respect the stool of Oduduwa and Àrólé Oduduwa. I am not a bastard.

“That noble family has never done anything wrong to my family to warrant arrogantly damaging their reputation in the mass media or the press. I am not a bastard.

“Meanwhile, the child at the centre of it all is a 28-year-old adult, who is old enough to be a head of state, like General Yakubu Gowon.

“Princess Adeola is still a spinster at the age of 28 years and would need peace of mind and not any public distraction from me or anybody else. Her happiness in life is more paramount now, for anybody who loves her and her progress in life,” Oladapo said.
