Femi Adesina's Off-Putting Effort From Buhari's Failure, By Deyemi Saka

December 17, 2021

It is a widely acknowledged fact that General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida(Rtd) while in office never shirked in his responsibility nor blaming previous administrations.

My attention has been drawn to the statement by Mr. Femi Adesina who is Special Adviser to the President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, titled “BUHARI AT 79: LESSONS WE’VE LEARNT FROM HIM”.

In the said post on his facebook page, he made some snide remarks about my Principal, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida(Rtd) and former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. While I do not have the mandate to speak for Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, I deemed it necessary to expose Femi Adesina for who he is.

At a very critical point of our national life when lives of Nigerians has lost value under the nonchalant, insensitive and rudderless administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as it has consistently demonstrated overwhelming cluelessness in fulfilling its constitutional mandate, on a day like this, one would have expected an exhibition of sobriety from the Presidency, but they rather hurl acerbic at past leaders with enviable feats and credentials beyond the reach of their Principal.

It is a widely acknowledged fact that General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida(Rtd) while in office never shirked in his responsibility nor blaming previous administrations.

This he demonstrated countless times and the highlight could be said to be the bringing to book the greatest terror of that era in the person of Lawrence Anini, an armed robber whose notoriety was widely acknowledged across the country. This was promptly achieved after a clear mandate was given to leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.

Till date, what the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has been doing is pleading with "terrorists" to sheathe their swords and pampering terrorists under the guise of a deradicalization program. Bello Turji has this nation and government in Sokoto State by the jugular. Forty-two Nigerians were burnt to death some few days ago by men suspected to be Turji's soldiers.

It is laughable how Femi Adesina thinks glorifying or portraying President Buhari as a poor man will sway sentiments of majority of Nigerians to the side of his principal except for those narrow-minded and sadistic unintelligent folks in his echo-chamber. I am left wondering why Muhammadu Buhari, a man of modest means and taste did not reject the construction of a helipad at his Daura residence? Moreover, Nigerians are wiser as the lifestyle of President Muhammadu Buhari and his immediate family exudes opulence, and affluence.

On a day like this, President Buhari and his handlers should be appealing to Nigerians and outlining how the administration will tackle the rising insecurity and endemic poverty across the country rather than the continuous debasement of human lives by huge demonstration of aloofness and haughtiness.

Femi Adesina's attempt at distracting Nigerians away from the gross ineptitude and monumental failure of his Boss is distasteful, sadistic, unintelligent, disdainful, and offensively intellectually infuriating.

God Heal Nigeria.
