Junketing Nigerian President, Buhari Leaves Ethiopia For Nigeria

Buhari said Nigeria would continue to support efforts in peaceful co-existence and unity.

President Muhammadu Buhari has left Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia for Abuja, Nigeria’s seat of government.

The Nigerian president, who has been junketing across the world in the last five months was in Ethiopia for the 35th Session of the Assembly of AU Heads of State and Government.

SaharaReporters gathered that Buhari’s presidential aircraft, a Boeing Business Jet (Boeing 737-700) with registration number 5N-FGT on Monday morning left the International Airport in Addis Ababa for Abuja.

The President had during a meeting with Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed on Sunday at the Headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa urged the Ethiopian leader to stay focused on keeping the country together in spite of the difficulties.[story_link align="left"]104462[/story_link]

Buhari said Nigeria would continue to support efforts in peaceful co-existence and unity.

He commended the efforts of the Prime Minister in maintaining peace and unity in the country, and his dedication to ensuring fairness and justice in development.

“You are leading a country that is large and diversified, just like Nigeria, and I know the sacrifices required to make the desired impact, especially in maintaining peace,” the President said.

Buhari, in a statement by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, said Ahmed had provided strong leadership for the country, encouraging him to sustain the good work in ensuring even development.
