According to the lady in the video via ghpage_tv on Instagram, she never wanted to become a nurse but her parents forced her to do so.

“I don’t want to go to nursing school but my parents are forcing me to go to nursing school. So, I go and buy the form and I will be going to nursing school very soon. So, in case I graduated and you see me in the hospital, I mean, working in the hospital, I’m begging you ladies and gentlemen, run for your life because I may kill somebody there. I may kill somebody,” the lady in nursing uniform with a stethoscope on her neck said.

Reacting to the video, the Ghanian Nursing and Midwifery Council while distancing itself from the lady warned nurses, midwives and students in the country to desist from any form of “unprofessional and unauthorized actions,” especially while in professional uniform.

The Council in a statement by its Public Affairs Directorate said it had commenced an investigation to identify the lady and administer necessary sanctions on her to serve as deterrent to others.

Parts of the statement read, “The attention of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC) has been drawn to a social media publication in which a purported nursing student in uniform is seen making a claim that she will kill any client who seeks her service as a nurse because she was forced to pursue nursing against her will.

“The Council dissociates itself from the video and also states unequivocally that it places great importance on the issue of professional conducts for nursing and midwifery students, nurses and midwives thus condemn such act.

“The Council therefore expresses concern about the unfortunate statement and will like to inform the general public that investigations have commenced earnestly to identify the said student and apply the necessary sanctions as enshrined in the Code of Conduct for nurses and midwives.

“The Council is cautioning against the usage of the nurses and midwives’ uniform by nursing and midwifery students, nurses, midwives and social media users to stop using the uniform for non-professional and unapproved activities.”
