"This administration has been known as one of most corrupt in the history of Nigeria".

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has said that Nigerians have been impoverished under President Muhammadu Buhari's administration.

According to him, the minimum wage paid to Nigerians has become a misery wage.

Sowore, who made the statement in an interview with Arise TV on Sunday morning said Buhari's government has destroyed the hope and future of Nigerians.

The #RevolutionNow convener said the administration found its way to power in 2015 and 2019 "crookedly" took over power with a promise to fight corruption, better the economy of the country and secure lives and property, "but this administration has been known as one of most corrupt in the history of Nigeria".

He said, "Accountant General, now former, was found to have stolen over N150 billion at the time that universities are shut down. Some of these funds that were stolen would have solved the problem of ASUU (Academic Staff Union of Universities) strike and secured the country but nobody, nowhere is secure in Nigeria including the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

"You have seen how terrorists, bandits and kidnappers were threatening to kidnap the President.

"They promised economic development for the country and all the indices are strained negatively as we speak. People are poorer than they used to be. This country under this APC (All Progressives Congress) regime and under President Buhari's regime came to become the poverty capital of the world.

"It became the place where more kids couldn't find their way to school. It became the place where tertiary institutions that are necessary for economic development, innovation for the future of this country have shut down for six months and going to seven months."

"It became the place where the minimum wage became a miserable wage for workers. It became the place where nobody can guarantee their destination if they are travelling by road or even now, by air," Sowore said.
