The party noted that its presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, through his revolutionary programmes would pull the country out of the imminent collapse and anarchy brought upon it by the combined failed governments of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party.

The African Action Congress (AAC) presidential campaign on Saturday kicked off in Kano State, as the party maintained that the liberty of Nigeria and its people lies on the ballot.
The party noted that its presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, through his revolutionary programmes would pull the country out of the imminent collapse and anarchy brought upon it by the combined failed governments of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party.
In a statement by its Presidential Campaign Spokesperson, Onyinye-Gandhi Chukwunyere, the AAC noted that Nigerians had endured endless treachery, deceit and oppression in the hands of failed past and present leaders and politicians, but assured that with its participation in coming elections, help was on the way.
The statement read, “Today, as we officially flag off our campaign for the 2023 presidential election, the African Action Congress (AAC) hereby assures the Nigerian people who have had to endure endless treachery, deceit, and oppression at the hands of failed politicians, that help is on the way. With our participation in this election, liberty is now on the ballot.”
AAC pointed out that “For more than six decades of our country's existence as an independent entity, successive generations of Nigerians have seen their hopes of a better life dashed by the corruption and ineptitude of charlatans passing off as leaders.
“Indeed, in the last 23 years of our experiment with Western democracy, this cycle of regression and dashed hopes has been reinforced by failed politicians in the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC). Our campaign of Total Liberation seeks to effectively put an end to that cycle.
“Today, our country is teetering on the brink of collapse. The economy is in shambles with the mix of high unemployment, low wages, crippling inflation, and meager social investments driving our people further into poverty. Over 20 million Nigerian children are out of school, public education at all levels is comatose, literal darkness pervades the country as investment in critical infrastructure, especially energy, remains low, and mired in corruption.
“Worsening insecurity has further reduced the quality of life for ordinary Nigerians. Terrorists, bandits, and a coterie of other criminals now run portions of the country, terrorizing our people, and even threatening to overrun Abuja, our political capital. The APC government has essentially abdicated its primary responsibility of ensuring the security and welfare of the Nigerian people. Under its ruddeless watch, the Nigerian life is now nasty, brutish, and short. This is unacceptable.”
The party further noted that “The Nigerian people must know that these tragic set circumstances will continue unabated if a radical departure from the leadership philosophy and practices of the past is not immediately Instituted. That departure from oppression to liberation is now on the ballot.
“That departure is represented by the AAC and our revolutionary Sowore/Magashi presidential ticket. The Sowore/Magashi ticket is the surest path out of the current national nightmare, and we are happy to see the Nigerian people embrace it in their millions.”
The statement re-emphasised that “As we have repeatedly stated, the AAC is the only mass-based party in the country today with structures and programmes inspired by the struggles and aspirations of our people. Therefore, our commitment to radically transforming the country in a way that guarantees their welfare and security, is unflinching.
“To be clear, the Sowore/Magashi ticket has the most carefully drawn up revolutionary programmes intended to decisely pull the country from the brink of collapse and anarchy, and administer it for the security and prosperity of our people.
“From the great city of Kano where we launched our liberation campaign today, we'll traverse the length and breadth of our country inspiring and uniting our people for the very important task of flushing out corrupt politicians and redeeming the country. We are very confident that with their support and partnership, the AAC shall build for the Nigerian people a nation of which they will be very proud.”
