The coalition of social media influencers from the northern region of the country under the aegis of APC Arewa Media Influencers has disassociated themselves from the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC) presidential campaign activities.
This was disclosed in a statement jointly signed and released by the group's chairman, Rabi'u Ali Biyora, and the secretary, Khalid rahim Angale, on Monday.
The statement read, "The aforementioned group, which is an amalgamation of all media Influencers of the ruling Party (APC) from the 19 Northern States and FCT has resolved to dissociate itself from the Bola Tinubu/Kashim Shettima's Presidential Campaign activities until further notice.
"The announcement was made today the 21 of November 2022 after a brief emergency meeting in Kano, Kano State."
Speaking further to SaharaReporters on the motive behind the group's decision, the secretary, Khalid rahim Angale, said it was to protest how the party handled the welfare of the youth members.
He said, "We did not have anything against the party's presidential candidate, Senator Bola Tinubu and in his running mate. We have only against the party's system.
"Our group was formed in 2014 and we played active roles in its success in 2015 and 2019. But we decided to dissociate ourselves from the party's campaign activities now because of the way they are treating the youths.”
