BREAKING: PDP Presidential Campaign Team Members, Supporters Stranded As Nigerian Government Allegedly Shuts Jos Airport After Atiku’s Rally

The presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar was in Jos on Tuesday for his presidential campaign rally.

The authorities of Jos Airport in Plateau have shut the airspace against members of the Peoples Democratic Party  Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), SaharaReporters has gathered.

Multiple sources told SaharaReporters that the airspace was shut immediately after the jet flying Atiku out of the Jos took off.

“Jos airport shut airspace on us. It was after Atiku left that they shut it down. Members of PCC, media and the advance team are affected. The airport light went off by 6:10 pm without reasons given.

“The airport was shut down five mins after Atiku left, it’s so sad,” a member of the PCC told SaharaReporters.

Paul Ibe, spokesperson for Atiku also confirmed the incident.

He accused President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration of disregarding the peace pact and electoral act.

“ALERT: In flagrant disregard to the Peace Pact, Electoral Act & INEC guidelines SGs and FG continue to deny PDP of infrastructure for its campaign. The airport authority in Plateau State shut down the Jos Airport keeping @atiku/@IAOkowa campaign officials & journalists stranded,” Ibe posted.
