The Benue State government had claimed that nine political parties threw their weight behind Uba’s candidacy.

The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress in Benue State, Benjamin Obe, has knocked Governor Samuel Ortom over the purported endorsement of his stooge, Titus Uba by some parties.

Uba is the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The Benue State government had claimed that nine political parties threw their weight behind Uba’s candidacy.

They were said to have declared their support for Uba on Tuesday during a meeting with Governor Ortom at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi.

Parties mentioned include the National Rescue Movement party, NRM, Action Alliance, AC and African Action Congress, AAC, Allied Peoples Movement, APM, New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Social Democratic Party, SDP, Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, Boot Party, BP as well as the Action Peoples Party, APP.

However, Obe said the purported endorsement was the handiwork of mischief makers who were out to tarnish the image of the party in the state.

Obe alleged that amid the poverty and insecurity rocking Benue, Ortom chose to give out millions of Naira to “fake people” in the name of endorsing his stooge.

“Our attention has been drawn to one fake who is parading himself as AAC chairman in Benue state that was sent to government house yesterday to announce that the party is supporting PDP,” the AAC guber candidate said in a statement.

“It’s unfortunate that the governor who has destroyed the whole Benue state, that has not achieved anything, that has not even been able to pay salary for over 8-month, pay pensioners, who has not even constructed a culvert in the state is arranging fake people to come and represent other different parties to endorse the candidature of his mole, we totally dissociate ourselves from that kind of attitude and we call it fraud.

“We are now calling on Benue people to genuinely come out on Saturday and vote the PDP out. The government has been a pain, this government has been an error, in fact, Benue people we have entered one chance.”
