Nigerian comedian, Oluwaseyitan Aletile, more commonly known as Seyi Law, has stated that his wife received threats over his political affiliations.

Seyi Law made this known on Thursday as he shared the screenshots of the disturbing message on his Twitter page, which was wishing his daughter death.

According to message, the writer simply identified as David Lee  promised the comedian who also doubles as an actor that the UK, where he and his family resided, wouldn’t be suitable for them.

He alleged that the comedian wanted to destroy Nigeria, and so, his daughter would also lose her life in the UK.

The statement reads; “Tell your husband, UK no go contain Una. This your daughter must die. Since he joined the people destroying Nigeria and he carry una go UM go hide, na that same UK Dem go take kill this una daughter”.

The comedian disclosed that more of such messages were in his DM for not supporting "their candidate."

“See what one of them sent to my wife. Even more in my DM for not supporting their candidate”.

Seyi Law had in February 2023 declared his support for All Progressives Congress' presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Seyi Law made this known in a post shared via his verified Instagram page.

He had written, “We can pretend, refuse to accept it, and even deny it, but what Tinubu did to rebuild Lagos after the military era can never be overstated. You can use other metrics I don’t know to judge him, but to deny his works in Lagos as governor and the continuity is plain hatred.

“If I was paid to campaign for ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU, let God judge me. I have always maintained my stance that I will never receive money to campaign for any politician and that I have always kept. This coming election, BAT is my candidate.”

However, Seyi Law later apologised to supporters of the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Atiku Abubakar, who were offended by his support for Tinubu, who has since been declared winner of the February 25 Presidential elections.

Taking to his social media page hours after Tinubu was declared winner of the presidential election, Seyi Law expressed concerns about the reactions of LP and PDP supporters, especially on social media.

Seyi Law’s post read: “My fellow Nigerians, I’m happy you are as passionate as you are about your preferred candidates. That is the way politics should be. However, hatred and bitterness towards each other shouldn’t have a place between us.

“You might not see things the way I see them. That doesn’t mean I’m right and you are wrong. It just means that we are different. If your candidates had won, I would have prayed and worked for their successes and mine.

“I apologise to those offended by my support. I seriously condemn all the violence across Nigeria. I have mixed feelings for your genuine anger and not for my candidate’s winning. I, however, pray that Nigerians’ lives get better.”
