Adeyemi popularly known as Olukonga was until her death a Special Assistant to the Governor attached to the the office of the First Lady.

The wife of Ondo State Governor, Betty Akeredolu has mocked her late female aide, Princess Ronke Adeyemi.

Adeyemi popularly known as Olukonga was until her death a Special Assistant to the Governor attached to the the office of the First Lady.

She was said to have died after a leg injury.

Mocking the deceased in a post on her verified Facebook page, Betty claimed she connived with another female aide, Bunmi Ademosu whom she earlier accused of interfering in the management of the governor’s health.

Ademosu is the Special Adviser on Public and Inter-Governmental Relations to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

“Link btw Ademosun aka Iyalagbo & Olukonga? Contractor of knee surgery fund sourced from Mr Gov. BEWARE of ANGEL of DEATH! - Jaf,” - the governor’s wife posted on Sunday.

Betty had in a leaked audio which SaharaReporters published on Monday, January 16, revealed that her husband was sick.

In the WhatsApp audio recording that is two minutes and 39 seconds long, she also accused Ademosu of “sneaking in concotions” for the treatment of her husband’s ailment.

She said she had warned the aide against such practices as she only believed in orthodox medication.

The audio is reproduced below:

“This is Arabinrin, I have a message for Ademosun and I believe that she’s on this Aketi’s women platform. I want this woman to stay away from my husband, stop sneaking in concoction.

“According to her, they are from her fake pastors to give my husband to drink. We rely on medical care. We rely on western style of medical care and Aketi will get well.

“What has triggered this very message is her recent meetings to become the deputy governor of Ondo state. Look at you, what have you got upstairs to become the deputy governor of Ondo state? Peradventure anything happens to Aketi, Lucky takes over, it’s a constitutional thing. But for you to be scheming, for you to be scheming. I warned Aketi from the beginning that this woman is evil, this woman is no good and it’s happening. She has nothing good for you and I warned you. This woman is bloody evil. But I’m warning her for the very last time to stay away from my husband.

“And look, if you are dealing with an Igbo woman in this kind of situation, I’ll deal with you mercilessly that you won’t forget in your life. For the very last time Ademosun, stay away from Aketi, you won’t find it funny with me. You are a very terrible woman, go away and enjoy your look.”

SaharaReporters had exclusively reported that Governor Akeredolu became bedridden and was in his residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, and was later flown out of Nigeria following his deteriorating health condition.

Sources had told SaharaReporters that he was unable to sign official documents due to his health condition.

It was also learnt that to prevent pictures of the governor’s emaciated looks from getting out, the family had asked security agents and a few politicians around him to put off their mobile phones.

The Ondo State government thereafter confirmed the report, saying Akeredolu was indisposed but still alive and not dead, according to some unverified claims.

The Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, had in a statement said that though the governor had been indisposed, “he has been attending to state matters and delegating functions to functionaries of the government when necessary.”

On June 7, the governor officially sought a medical leave and directed his deputy to act as the governor.

Akeredolu is a second-term governor under the All Progressives Congress and his tenure will come to an end in 2024.

SaharaReporters exclusively reported in January that Akeredolu was treating an ailment said to be blood cancer (leukemia).

On July 10, Olamide Oladiji, Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, announced the receipt of another letter indicating an extension of the leave.

He said the governor was “following the doctor’s advice on the need to take adequate rest after recuperating”.

The speaker said the deputy governor would continue to act as governor “until there is a written declaration to the contrary”.
