According to the memo, all the doctors have until Friday, 21st of July, 2023 to submit their new application.
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has directed medical doctors in the state under the employ of the Hospital Management Board, HBM, to submit a fresh “Expression of Interest” if they want to continue working with the state government.
In a memo signed by the Director in Charge, Dr Hemuka Rock Biale, for the Honourable commissioner, the government said the move “is in line with the Government vision of delivery healthcare services to all Abians."
According to the memo, all the doctors have until Friday, 21st of July, 2023 to submit their new application.
It partly read: “I am directed to inform all Medical Doctors in the State Ministry of Health employ to re-apply expressing their interest on working with the Ministry indicating their willingness to work under the Ministry of Health, Umuahia and Hospitals Management Board (HMB). This is in line with the Government vision of delivery healthcare services to all Abians.
“This is expected to be done on or before Friday 21st of July, 2023. This is mandatory to avoid sanction.”
In another development, the sporting director of Enyimba football club has directed all the management, staff and technical crew of Enyimba FC first and second teams to submit application for reabsorption into their position.
Titled: "application for re-absorption into Enyimba Management…" an internal memo to that effect reads:
“To All The Management, Staff, And Technical Crew Of Enyimba FC 1 And 2nd Teams. You are hereby instructed by this notice to re-apply for your positions in the club with immediate effect.
“Note: all application should be submitted to the club manager within 48 hours. Thanks for your usual corporation.”
