Nigerian police have arrested three men for allegedly gang-raping a 15-year-old girl in Adamawa State.

Spokesperson for the police in Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Nguroje, told SaharaReporters on Wednesday that the suspects committed the crime in the Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of the state.
He said, "Adamawa State Police Command on 20/07/2023 apprehended three (3) suspects for gang raping a 15-year-old minor in Mayo Belwa Local Government Area.
"Suspects are: Hassan Nasir, 25 years, a resident of Sabon Pegi Ngurore, Yola South Local Government Area; Uzairu Dan Fulani, 25 years, a resident of Gasabga ward Mayo belwa, Mayola Belwa Local Government Area and Yahaya Edward 26 years, a resident of Sabon Pegi, Ngurore, Yola South Local Government Area.
"The suspects lured the girl who boarded a tricycle from Mayo Belwa to Ngurore where they diverted behind Cottage Hospital in Mayo -Belwa and forcefully dragged her into a certain house and had an unlawful carnal knowledge of her without her consent.
"The incident was reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Mayo Belwa by a relative of the victim which resulted to their arrest.
"The Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola has expressed worry over the unfortunate incident, and directed the officer in charge of Family Support Unit of the Command to take over investigation and ensure diligent prosecution in accordance with the extant laws.
"The police boss calls on the general public, especially parents to be watchful of their wards and key into the Command's effort in fighting all forms of gender based violence (GBV) and report person(s) of suspicious Character to the Police."
