The former lawmaker who warned the minister to learn to walk in a minefield or be blown by it said, “The capacity and competence of the new FCT minister to deliver is without doubt.

A former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, on Tuesday said that the utterances and actions of former governor and now Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, inaugurated on Monday, will get him into “serious political trouble” with President Bola Tinubu.

Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, said this while reacting to Wike’s threat on Monday shortly after his inauguration that he would waste no time demolishing any house built at wrong locations in the capital city even if the owners of the properties were ministers or ambassadors.

SaharaReporters on Monday reported that the former Rivers State governor, during a press briefing held shortly after he was sworn in as minister alongside 44 others in Abuja following their appointments by President Tinubu, threatened to demolish houses built at wrong locations in Abuja, even if the owners of such structures were top politicians.

But Sani said that while there was no doubt about Wike’s capability to deliver on his job, adding that there was also the possibility that through his utterances and actions, he would get himself into trouble with the president.

The former lawmaker who warned the minister to learn to walk in a minefield or be blown by it said, “The capacity and competence of the new FCT minister to deliver is without doubt.

“The possibility of getting himself and the President into serious political trouble by his utterances or actions is also without doubt. He will have to learn to walk in a minefield or be blown by it.”
