A source, who was at the trial stated this to SaharaReporters, confirming that Talolorun and one other defendant, Baba Oluwo Tade, were present before the magistrate in Ilorin, Kwara State on Wednesday.

According to the source, the court refused to grant Talolorun’s bail application and ordered that he should be remanded till the next adjourned date: September 4, 2023.

The source said, “The court has adjourned the case till September 4 and ordered that Talolorun should be remanded till then.”

On Monday, SaharaReporters had reported that the court heard the hearing of the bail application filed by the Isese (traditional religion) practitioner and activist.

The Isese practitioner was remanded in prison last week for allegedly planning to start a war in the city by "inviting other traditional and idol worshippers to assemble in Ilorin on the 20th of August, 2023.”

He was also accused of burning the Quran and insulting some Islamic clerics.

According to the copy of the affidavit used to support the bail application which was obtained by SaharaReporters, Ridwan Adegbola, a brother of Talolorun, said the continued detention of the Isese activist would make his wife and children suffer.
