Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections stated this on Tuesday morning via his various social media platforms, while noting that the State Commissioner of Police was playing mind games in the ongoing issues between traditional worshippers and Muslim ulama in the state.

Human rights activist and convener of #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore has called for the sacking of the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi for the manner in which the state command under her watch handled the lingering religious crisis in the state.

He said, “#FreeTaniOlohunNow: This Kwara CP is playing to the gallery, pretending as though she is not biased against Tani Olohun. The fact that she had to hold a meeting with the family of a “wanted man” begging them to ask him to surrender shows that she was just playing mind games. She didn’t declare him wanted for weeks since he allegedly committed the offence until his video was circulated by all.

“She also hasn’t declared wanted those that threatened Isese worshippers. Their videos are all over the internet as well. We ask the IGP of Nigeria Police Force to remove the CP and discontinue the kangaroo trial of Tani Olohun and release him from unjust detention with immediate effect! #freetaniolohun #RevolutionNow.”

Meanwhile, SaharaReporters earlier reported that the police declared Salam Ayodeji, wanted for allegedly threatening Isese (traditional) practitioners in Ilorin Kwara State.

This declaration was made by the CP, Adelesi, in a meeting with Ayodeji’s family, on Monday night.
The CP had asked the family to produce the suspect latest Wednesday for the alleged offence of terrorism and defamation against the police.

The police chief also chastised the family for as “the poor training of their son”.
She had continued: “Is it because Tajudeen’s wife is from Osun State? Does that mean she’s a traditionalist? Or are there no Muslims in Osun State.”
