The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) on Tuesday morning disrupted business activities at Apapa and Tin-Can Island Ports of the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) to join the ongoing two-day nationwide strike actions declared by the Nigerian Labour Congress.

It was gathered that all gates leading to The Apapa and Tin-Can Island seaport gates have been all locked by the maritime workers, Leadership reports.
This has also caused traffic congestion at the Mile 2 road to experience a standstill as vehicles refused to transport commuters, leading to disruptions in some offices in the Apapa area.
A motorist, Yusuf Liadi, narrated that no single truck had moved out or accessed the port since morning due to the strike.
SaharaReporters earlier reported that the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Kano State chapter on Tuesday had also joined the two-day warning strike to protest over the removal of fuel subsidy by the Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government.
It was learnt that as early as 5am on Tuesday morning, the labour union shut down government offices and other facilities in the state.
