Take-It-Back Movement Begins Massive Mobilisation Of Nigerians For October 1 Protest Against Hardship Under Tinubu Government

The Take-It-Back Movement (TIB) has begun mobilisation for a massive nationwide protest against the socio-economic hardship Nigerians are facing due to the anti-poor policies of the Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government.

The Movement said this on Monday in a communique issued at the end of the State of the Nation meeting held at the Rights House Jones Ikeja Lagos on Saturday and signed by Abdulrahaman Abdulmajid, General Secretary, Take It Back Movement, Nigeria.

The communique reads: “The meeting which started at exactly 2PM had hundreds of participants at the physical venue in addition to others who joined virtuallyAsides holding conversations about the general state of the country Viz the unprecedented hardship, specific attention was also accorded to communities fighting against demolition of their homesand students fighting fee increments.”

“Subsequently, meeting: Bemoans the Tinubu led government for removal of subsidy from fuel that has resulted in untold hardship. Condemns the students loan act and wave of fee hikes across the country. No support for the coupists in Africa and outright rejection of the invasion of Niger by ECOWAS; Declares support for the ongoing struggles against fees at the University of Lagos.

“Re-affirm support for the ongoing anti-demolision struggles in Oworonshoki; Reiterate support for its campaign for religious freedom demands end to the persecution of Taniolohun; Massive sensitization activities should intensify on campuses, communities and the social media.

“Build a national campaign against education commercialization and fee hikes; Engage and identify with the demands of different segments of the oppressed people of the country; Begin mobilizations for a nationwide mass action against increasing hardship in the country

“Meeting agreed to declare October 1 as a day of mass action against the state of suffering and hardship in the country.”
