The tribunal is set to deliver judgment in a petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to challenge the victory of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Palpable tension has forced the closure of schools and businesses in Kano State, North-West Nigeria, as the state awaits a tribunal decision on the governorship election.

The tribunal is set to deliver judgment in a petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to challenge the victory of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

However, SaharaReporters learnt that judges would deliver judgement virtually via the Zoom application, just as journalists, lawyers, party members and many others were denied access into the court.

When the proceedings commenced by 10am, Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay, Chairman of the three-member panel, spoke via Zoom.

About now, streets in the ancient city have been deserted as students and pupils were asked to return home when they got to school Wednesday morning.

Similarly, offices and businesses have also closed for the day.
