Forgive And Forget – Embattled Deputy, Shaibu Begs Edo Governor, Obaseki

The embattled deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has pleaded with his principal, Governor Godwin Obaseki to forgive him all his “wrong doings.”

Shaibu, who has been locked in a war of attrition with the governor over his ambition to succeed him as the next governor Edo State made the plea in an interview with journalists.

Speaking on the ongoing interview, in his Benin City residence, he asked Obaseki to forgive and forget and accept him back.

SaharaReporters reported on Tuesday that Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu was denied access to his office at the Government House in Benin, the state capital.

Shaibu had arrived at the Government House on Monday morning but met the gate leading to his office under lock and key.

According to him, he was yet to receive a formal letter from the governor’s office over the directive pertaining to his relocation to a new office.

“Up till now, I don’t have any official communication that I should relocate. As I am speaking to you now, I am standing by the gate,” he said in a video posted online.

Last week, a letter said to be from the office of the Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, was reported to have been sent to the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor directing Shuaibu to relocate to a new office.
