The incident happened on September 27, 2023 at Sangere, near Modibbo Adama University in the Girei Local Government Area of the State,
The Nigeria Police Force, Adamawa State command, has arrested Mika Bitrus, 32, a resident of Adamawa State who confessed to defiling a four-year-old girl.
Bitrus, however blamed his inordinate behaviour on his wife, claiming she denied him sexual relationship on the ill-fated night.
"She refused to have me in bed and ran out of the room; unfortunately the kid was handy, so I grabbed her," he explained.
A carpenter by trade, Bitrus further explained that his wife was keeping malice because they had quarrelled earlier during the day. "When I returned home at night I was actually high on alcohol and wanted her badly but she refused," he added.
The incident happened on September 27, 2023 at Sangere, near Modibbo Adama University in the Girei Local Government Area of the State, according to the spokesperson for the police in the state, Suleiman Nguroje.
He said, “Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command attached to Girei Division while on confidence building patrol along Sangere Girei Road, intercepted and arrested a 32years old Mika Bitrus, a resident of Sangere for raping a 4 years old child.
"The suspect was arrested following a complaint made by Fatsuma Abdullahi a mother to the victim.
"Investigation so far reveals that the suspect is a carpenter and a father of one. He took advantage of the victim who happened to be his neighbour.
"The Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola assured that criminals of such attitude will never escape punishment."
