The anti-graft commission in a short statement issued on its X (formerly Twitter) identified the suspects arrested at House F10, Victoria Crest 4, Lekki, Lagos, as Udemba Chukwuemeka, a.k.a Jody and Jamal Jamiu Onasola, a.k.a. Jamal.

The Lagos State Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has confirmed that its operatives on Tuesday arrested two suspected internet fraudsters at the house of the Nigerian singer, John Njeng-Ngeng aka Skales in Lagos.

Jamal.

This comes a few hours after the EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, denied the singer’s claim that heavily armed operatives of the agency broke into his house and wrongly accused him of being a fraudster.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that the singer said he was sleeping with his six-month-old daughter when the anti-graft agency operatives numbering about three broke into his house through the backdoor on Monday night.

But the EFCC spokesperson had denied the claim, asking the singer to prove that his house was truly invaded by the agency officers, as he was quoted by PUNCH as saying, “Number 1, we don’t invade. Number 2, we don’t conduct any raids. Number 3, there are ways and rules to identify a regular EFCC operative.

“So, to all intents and purposes, all of his claims, they are totally removed from what an EFCC operation looks like,” adding that the incident might be an allegation, as the invaders could be impersonators of the EFCC roaming around.

However, in the short statement confirming the arrest of the two suspects in Skales’ house, EFCC said that “The two suspects, suspected of being involved in dating scam, described Njeng as their " mentor".

“While Chukwuemeka has been in Njeng's residence for two years, Onasola has only stayed there for a few months. They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
