American actress Jada Pinkett Smith, 52, has called her late pal Tupac Shakur her ‘soulmate’ even though she has been married to actor Will Smith for 19 years, but separated in 2016.

The “Girls Trip” actress confessed to Rolling Loud’s Christal Jordan on Thursday that the two were “soulmates,” but also spoke about the distinct lack of the necessary spark between her and the “Dear Mama” rapper, who was murdered on September 13, 1996, New York Post reports.

“We have soulmates — our children can be our soulmates,” Pinkett Smith replied when asked if she would use the term to describe Pac — as he apparently previously described her. “There’s all kinds of definitions of soulmate.”

During the candid chat, the actree admitted that the pair did have “those moments” of romance together, but it never felt right.

“I wish I could get people to understand,” Pinkett Smith said of the duo’s nonexistent spark. “And I know it’s so hard [to believe] but it wasn’t just me. It was him, too.”

“It was almost like God made us that way. It’s like, ‘Look, we’ll put y’all together, alright? Y’all gonna be a dynamic duo, but I’ll tell you right now: I’m gonna make it so you’re not gonna be able to get together,’ because that just wasn’t the purpose,” she explained.

Pinkett Smith, who is on the road promoting her upcoming memoir “Worthy,” did admit with a laugh, “If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think Pac and I have traveled a few together in various forms.”

She recently revealed in an interview that she and Will Smith had been separated since 2016.

She said they had been living completely separate lives for the last seven years but were not ready to publicly confirm the news before.

Police recently charged Duane “Keefe D” Davis, a former confidante of the late rapper, with Shakur’s murder — nearly 20 years after a Las Vegas Strip shootout claimed Pac’s life.

The pair bonded while attending the Baltimore School for the Arts together. Pinkett Smith also appeared in his “Keep Ya Head Up” and “Temptations” music videos. She posted $100,000 bail when Shakur was convicted of sexual abuse in 1994.

Pinkett Smith and the “Hit ‘Em Up” rapper had a close friendship for many years. She previously revealed that she met Pac when she was a drug dealer.

She also honored him on his birthday in 2021 with a poem.

Pinkett has been married to “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star Will Smith for 19 years — but recently revealed the pair have been separated for the last seven, including during his infamous Oscars slap.
