The cleric claimed that cursing Nigerian leaders would continue to worsen the country’s socioeconomic problems.

Pastor Olatunbosun Emmanuel of Jesus Reign Church in Ilorin, Kwara State, has warned Nigerians against speaking ill of those holding political posts in the country.

The cleric claimed that cursing Nigerian leaders would continue to worsen the country’s socioeconomic problems, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

He, therefore, urged Nigerians to pray for the country’s leadership and give constituted authorities the maximum cooperation for a better nation.

Emmanuel gave the advice on Saturday in an interview with NAN about how Nigerians may make a meaningful contribution to the country's prosperity.

He warned against cursing the leaders, saying it would only make Nigeria's position worse.

According to him, the country's leadership requires support and prayers, not curses.

Emmanuel said most Nigerians are fond of cursing their leaders and calling them negative names rather than praying for them to succeed in leading the country to prosperity.

“Let us cooperate with them and put them in prayers for God to change their rigid mind towards the masses.

“The curses will only worsen the situation. Let us support them with prayers for a change of heart and love for the masses,” he said.

The cleric also advised religious leaders to lead by example and stop saying negative words against the country’s leadership.

He enjoined Nigerians to be optimistic that the country would be great and regain its lost glory.
