Ongoing NLC, TUC Nationwide Strike Stalls Coroner Inquest Sitting On Singer, MohBad’s Death
November 15, 2023

The last sitting of the coroner was adjourned to Wednesday, November 15 to determine the cause of death of the 27-year-old singer.

The Coroner Inquest sitting on the death of singer and songwriter, Ilerioluwa Aloba, more commonly called MohBad, has been stalled by the ongoing nationwide strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria.

The Chief Coroner of Lagos State, Hon. Justice M.A Dada had in September directed an inquest into the death of Mohbad who died in mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023 and was buried the following day.

This was according to a letter addressed to a Lagos-based legal firm, Festus Ogun Legal on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, following a series of requests earlier submitted to the Chief Coroner on the same matter.

The last sitting of the coroner was adjourned to Wednesday, November 15 to determine the cause of death of the 27-year-old singer.

However, security officials at the court, on Wednesday, refused magistrates and judiciary staff entry into the building to continue the inquest on Wednesday.

A court official told the News Agency of Nigeria that the courtroom was not open as there was full compliance with the strike called by the NLC and the Trade Union Congress.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that the NLC listed six demands as a condition to consider calling off the ongoing nationwide strike over the brutal attack on its National President, Joe Ajaero and other national leaders in Owerri, Imo State capital.

The NLC and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) commenced a nationwide strike on Tuesday over the police and thugs’ attack on Ajaero at the NLC state secretariat in Owerri during the governorship election in the state.
