The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that there is an alleged plot by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to upturn the will of the people and rob the party of its hard-earned victory especially in Plateau State.
The PDP National Chairman, Umar Damagun, raised the alarm in an ongoing press conference at the party’s National Secretariat, in Abuja.
He said part of the plot was to use compromised judges at the Court of Appeal to upturn popular votes cast in favour of the PDP and its candidates in various elections.
SaharaReporters had days ago also reported that the PDP said it uncovered an alleged plot by some leaders in APC to pressure the Court of Appeal for a review and reversal of the judgment which removed Senator Darlington Nwokocha of the Abia Central district.
The court had in its judgment sacked Nwokocha of the Labour Party and declared Col. Austin Akobundu of the PDP as the winner.
In a statement, Debo Ologunagba, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP had said the pronouncement of the Court of Appeal as a Court of Final adjudication in the matter is clear.
Ologunagba asked INEC to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Nwokocha, the same having been voided and issue a fresh Certificate of Return to Akobundu as the authentic winner of the election.
