Ejimakor’s call came amid allegations that the Governor Sanwo-Olu-led Lagos State government is targeting and demolishing markets populated by Igbos and buildings owned by Igbos.
Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, counsel to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has called on South-East (Igbo) leaders to visit Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State over the demolition of houses and properties belonging to Igbo people in the state.
Ejimakor, who also asked the Igbo leaders to visit President Bola Tinubu over the demolition, said that they must not be beggarly but must issue an ultimatum against the Lagos State government to cease or desist from the demolition exercise.
The lawyer, who made the call on Monday on his X (formerly Twitter) handle said that the Igbo leaders who should embark on the visit must include the National Assembly caucus, all the South East governors, clergymen, traditional rulers and civil society leaders.
He wrote, “#LagosDemolitions: It’s time for the entire Igbo leadership to pay a visit to @jidesanwoolu & @officialABAT.
“This should include the NASS caucus, all the Governors, the Clergy, traditional & civic leaders. They shouldn’t beg. Instead, they should issue an ultimatum; a cease & desist.”

It was gathered that one of those affected was former Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, who claimed that his house was demolished by the Lagos State government despite getting due approval from relevant authorities.
Recall that Ejimakor had tackled the Governor Sanwo-Olu-led Lagos State government and President Tinubu over the demolition in Lagos and other parts of the country.
Ejimakor, who described the demolition of properties of Igbos in Lagos as an act of cowardice, said that the Nigerian government has continued to turn the country into an open air prison for Igbos.
He had demanded that those who want Igbos out of Lagos or Nigeria should rather conduct a Biafra referendum to let Igbos go their separate way as a sovereign nation as Igbos have had enough.
