Nigerian Police Parade Suspects For Burying Community Chairman Alive In Rivers State

The suspects were paraded during a maiden briefing of the new Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu.

The Rivers State Police Command of the Nigeria Police Force on Monday paraded a group of suspects arrested for allegedly burying alive a Community Development Committee chairman of Kereken-Boue in the Khana Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects were paraded during a maiden briefing of the new Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu.

During the press briefing, the state command also paraded other suspects for a variety of crimes ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, murder, among others.

CP Disu warned criminal elements in the state to steer clear or be ready to face the full weight of the law as there will be no conducive space for them to operate.

Also during the briefing, the traditional ruler of Kereken-Boue community, Chief Ezekiel Gara, reportedly displayed photographs showing some of the dead victims of the cultists even as he said some members of the community had to flee because of the cultists.

The police also displayed arms, ammunition and other weapons recovered from the suspects upon their arrest.
