Reports surfaced on Friday claiming that 23 people were kidnapped on February 22, 2024.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has debunked reports making the rounds that about 23 residents were kidnapped in Bwari Local Council Area

Reports surfaced on Friday claiming that 23 people were kidnapped on February 22, 2024.

However, the FCT Police Command's spokesperson, Josephine Adeh in a statement issued on Friday described the report as false.

The statement partly reads, "The FCT Police Command is aware of the news making the rounds on social media about the alleged kidnapping of 23 persons on February 22, 2024, in Bwari and therefore wishes to state that this assertion is false and a figment of the febrile imagination of the writer and peddlers of the information aimed at misleading and causing apprehension in the populace.”

"Consequent to the above, we clearly wish to state that FCT is safe, as the command is working assiduously to maintain that. We urge residents to shun fake news and rumors and go about their lawful businesses without fear," the statement added.
