The deceased traditional ruler was said to have spent one day in his abductors’ den before he was killed and his corpse dumped around the village where it was found.

The kidnapped village head of Riruwai in Lame District of Bauchi Emirate in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Alhaji Garba Badamasi, has been found dead.

It was gathered that Badamasi was abducted by gunmen who invaded his residence on Friday.

Daily Trust reports that a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the gunmen went straight into Badamasi’s palace and took him away.

The deceased traditional ruler was said to have spent one day in his abductors’ den before he was killed and his corpse dumped around the village where it was found.

Badamasi’s body was said to have been recovered by those who had embarked on a search and rescue mission and they brought the body to his palace on Sunday, where funeral prayers and subsequent burial were held.

It was reported that one of the traditional title holders of the village confirmed the incident.

However, efforts to confirm the incident from the police failed as the Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Wakili, did not answer calls made to his phone number nor respond to the text sent to him as of the time of filing this report.
