A 39-year-old man identified as Ernest Okporu has allegedly defiled the 11-year-old daughter of his landlord in Osubi community, in the Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, southern Nigeria.

According to a source in the community, Ernest tied the victim's hands behind her back and forcibly defiled her in his apartment.
The source said, "Ernest sent the victim to his apartment to bring his charger, while he followed her and grabbed her from behind, tied her hands to the back and forcefully defiled her.
"After he finished with the victim, he then threatened to kill her if she told anybody. He also forced her to wash her pants which were bloodstained.
"Ernest admitted to the crime and begged for forgiveness from the father of the victim after police arrested and detained him at Orerokpe police station."
The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on Wednesday.
"Yes, it's true; the suspect is in our custody and the investigation has commenced," Edafe said.
