A Magistrate Court sitting in Abuja has again adjourned the hearing of the bail application of the prominent blogger and social media influencer Ofoegu Chukwuma otherwise known as "Ijele" to Friday, April 12, 2024.

Ijele had been kept at the Keffi Correctional Centre in Nasarawa State since March 20, 2024, for alleged cases of criminal intimidation, threat to life, cyberstalking, and cyberbullying against Evangelist Ebuka Obi’s Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach.

The adjournment came after a series of arguments by the defence lawyer, Malvin Omorugbe Esq. who challenged the prosecutor's arguments who asserted that the magistrate court lacked jurisdiction to grant bail to suspects and highlighted that the police had filed a case in the high court.

Omorugbe further submitted that no documents were filed and that the prosecutor was yet to produce any evidence to support the claim.

After the Chief Magistrate, Emmanuel Iyanna had listened to the both parties he therefore adjourned the case to April 12th for hearing of the bail application.

SaharaReporters had reported how the Chief Magistrate, Emmanuel Iyanna adjourned the hearing of the bail application to April 8, 2024 following the clash and  disagreement between two prosecution lawyers, Obiora Ejiofor and BN. Ezala who claimed to be representing the Nigeria Police Force in the case.

Ijele has been languishing in custody as he spent Easter celebration in the prison.
