Charges of cyberstalking were levelled against Aghogho by one P.N. Etumudon Esq from the Delta State Ministry of Justice.

Justice M.I. Sani of the Federal High Court, Warri Judicial Division will on Thursday, April 20, 2024, hear de-novo (start afresh) the case against the Delta State Coordinator of the Take-It-Back Movement, Ighorhiohwunu Aghogho.

Charges of cyberstalking were levelled against Aghogho by one P.N. Etumudon Esq from the Delta State Ministry of Justice.

Aghogho took a fresh plea when the case came up on January 15, 2024, before Justice M.I. Sani of the Federal High Court in Warri.

SaharaReporters reported on January 12, 2024, that the newly posted and presiding judge of the Federal High Court, Warri Judicial Division, Justice M.I. Sani had fixed January 15 to commence the trial de novo of frivolous cyberstalking charges against Aghogho.

A trial de novo is a type of trial in which a case is retried without the influence of the previous trial's decision. This implies that Aghogho's matter will start afresh after spending 17 months in prison.

Aghogho was released on bail in March after spending over 600 days awaiting trial over a call to probe child trafficking allegations against some government officials in the state.

Aghogho was released at about noon on Friday, March 22 and was led out of the Federal Correctional Centre Warri (Prison) by a Federal High Court clerk and his counsel, Mrs Eloho Chalele.

Aghogho popularly called ‘Human right’ by fellow inmates and warders in the Warri Prison was given a loud ovation by inmates and warders at the point of exit from the prison.

"Human right, remember to fight for us o," some of the inmates and warders cried out.
