Speaking on the development, the Federal Fire Service public relations officer in Jigawa state, Aliyu M.A, noted that the fire service reacted to the incident swiftly.
A fuel laden tanker has been said to have exploded in Jigawa State.
According to reports, the development occured at the Jigawa-Kano border.
Speaking on the development, the Federal Fire Service public relations officer in Jigawa state, Aliyu M.A, noted that the fire service reacted to the incident swiftly.
“On November 12, 2024, at approximately 10:43 hours, the Federal Fire Service received a distress call from Kuho Village Head, Zubairu Ahmad, regarding a tanker accident at Tsaida, Kwanar Kalle, near Gamoji village along Maiduri Road.”
“The FFS responded promptly, arriving at the scene at 10:50 hours. The fire was contained and brought under control,” Aliyu added.
It would be recalled that a similar incident led to over 170 deaths in October.
The incident that claimed 170 lives occurred on October 15, 2024, when a truck carrying petrol, travelling from Kano to Nguru in Yobe State, exploded in Majia located in Taura Local Government Area of the state.
SaharaReporters reported that atleast 105 bodies were recovered were evacuated immediately after the incident in October.
