Monitng, a civic technology platform that provides information on tracking the progress of public projects and access to public data, has raised the alarm over the deplorable state of a primary health centre in a community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The platform in a post on its X handle on Wednesday said that the condition of the Primary Health Centre in Kigbe Community in the Kwali area of the FCT was so terrible that pregnant women and children were facing the dire consequences of the inadequately equipped health facility.

“The critical condition of the Primary Health Center in Kigbe community, Kwali area, FCT, Abuja. Demands immediate government intervention.

“Pregnant women and children face dire consequences due to the inadequately equipped facility,” the civic technology platform said.

SaharaReporters on Monday reported that the Kaida Primary Healthcare Centre in Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, is currently in a state of decay, as shown by pictures obtained by SaharaReporters.

The Centre covered with bushes has the roof blown out with rickety windows and without doors.

A resident and volunteer worker, Usman Mohammed who shared the pictures of the dilapidated facility on his X (formerly Twitter), handle, had accused the Senator representing Federal Capital Territory, Senator Ireti Kingibe of neglecting the healthcare Centre and going to Dobi Ward Gwagwalada to construct 50-bed capacity hospital.

Mohammed, however, regretted that the Senator sighted the 50-bed hospital in Dobi despite hosting two hospitals with an outreach to teaching hospital.

Mohammed wrote on his X account: "This is Kaida Primary Healthcare so dilapidated but the FCT Senator is constructing 50-bed capacity in Dobi where there are over 2 hospitals with an outreach of teaching hospital but forget about this community."

Meanwhile, SaharaReporters learnt from the invitation card that the ground breaking construction of the hospital was performed on Saturday, March 2, 2024.
